Best All-Terrain Pram uk
If you're seeking a pram that can handle country walks and rough terrain, this lightweight stroller by Out N About is a great choice. The larger rear wheels give better performance on bumpy surfaces, and the one-handed folding feature is an added advantage.
It is also compatible with the travel system that includes a car seat and carrycot (sold separately). Our test-driver's parents found this pram a breeze to use on smooth surfaces and in towns, but it did struggle slightly on bumpy terrain.
1. UPPAbaby Ridge
You see UPPAbaby strollers everywhere on playgrounds and sidewalks in cities, but the Ridge is their first jogger that is also designed for all-terrain adventures. Launched in 2021, the Ridge is a great competitor against BOB joggers such as the Alterrain Pro, Revolution Flex and Rambler. While it shares a lot of the same features with other joggers however, the Ridge is distinct due to its never-flat tires and disc brakes that resemble mountain bikes that offer more stopping power than traditional drum brakes that are found on many jogging strollers.
The Ridge seat is higher than most other jogging seats, which allows children to see their surroundings more clearly. Parents can recline the seat to a range of positions with a standard plastic toggle and two straps that are attached to the rear of the stroller. The canopy is large and can be extended for greater coverage during long walks. However, the plastic covering can be dirty during muddy or wet excursions.
Contrary to other joggers the wheels on the UPPAbaby Ridge are made of foam-filled rubber instead of air-filled therefore there is no requirement to carry an extra set of tires and an air pump with you. The Ridge features a rear wheel lock to allow running, as well as a wheel on the front that can be adjusted to suit different terrains. The UPPAbaby Ridge comes with a parking brake which is activated by your foot, just like other running stollers.
A large basket underneath the seat provides plenty of storage space for equipment, snacks and toys for children. The canopy cover can be opened open to give you more coverage on sunny days, or shut and cinched in the times when it's cloudy. Parents will appreciate the fact that the Ridge is compatible with UPPAbaby's infant car seats as well as their Bassinet accessory (adapters are sold separately) for a travel system.
One disadvantage of the UPPAbaby Ridge is that it's heavy and bulky when folded. The stroller is difficult to transport via public transportation and is difficult to maneuver through narrow storefronts and shopping aisles.
2. Cybex Avi
The Cybex Avi is a stylish and elegant jogger for runners who want high-performance. The lightweight stroller was designed for running and offers an effortless ride due to its air-filled tyres as well as rear suspension. It is easy to fold and carry.
The travel system is compatible with all Cybex infant and carryycot car seats. all terrain push chair at the front provides unbeatable maneuverability, and the adjustable legrest will ensure maximum comfort. The ergonomically reclining seat is spacious enough to accommodate your growing child.
The stroller features a large sun canopy to protect your baby from sun and wind. It comes in a range of colors and features reflective details to improve visibility on the go. The reversible bar is another fantastic feature. It helps you maneuver and make tighter turns on busy roads or paths that are uneven in parks.
Cybex Avi is a winner of multiple awards, including the Red Dot Design award, which is one of the most prestigious international competitions for product design. It's an excellent accolade to be awarded because it's a testament to the company's commitment to design and innovation in their products.
Avi Spin comes in a single package with a choice of 3 frame colors and 5 fabrics colors. This lets you customize it to your own style. It's also compatible with a variety of accessories, such as a rain cover and insect net, which can further enhance your outdoor adventures.
The Avi Spin comes with a harness that is simple to use and quick. This lets you spend more time exploring. The stroller can fold flat to make it easy to store. It's great for city trips, or for running and hiking in remote areas.
The Avi Spin is easy to use on pavements and roads however, it won't perform as well on rocky, gravelly and wet tracks. If you are planning to use it on these terrains, we suggest purchasing a set of trail tyre to get the best results.
3. Out N About Nipper V5
The lightweight pushchair was created to enhance the experiences of both child and parent. The streamlined frame allows easy maneuverability on city streets as well as country trails. The air filled tyres and suspension enable you to navigate through rough terrains whilst keeping your child comfortable.
The Out N About Nipper V5 single forest black is an award-winning stroller that is all-terrain, ideal for parents who want to take their child out on adventures in the outdoors with their children. It's been updated with a range of improvements for 2023, including waterproof fabrics, an extendable sun visor, UV visor, 5-point safety harness that is improved and has a magnetic peek-aboo window, and a one-hand quick folding mechanism.
It is suitable for use from the time of birth. It features a flat newborn position that will provide your baby with comfort through those early months. It is also compatible with travel systems which means you can use it with an infant carrier car seat from brands like Cybex, Maxi-Cosi and Phil & Teds. As an optional extra the baby insert is padded and can be purchased to help make your seat.
The buggy can be built in just a few minutes, without the use of tools or screwdrivers. To complete this task, you'll have to unlock the locking catch on the frame's sides, then simply pull the handle inside the seat unit and it will fold. The shopping basket can be easily accessible, and a clip-on changing bag can be affixed to the rear of the seat.
The Nipper V5 is an excellent choice for active families that are keen on exercising and enjoying the fresh air with their children. If you want to use it for jogging, it is important to remember that you need to wait until your child is at minimum six months old before starting.
Out N About has a small but well-designed selection of double-running buggies. The slimline Nipper Sports double is ideal for parents with twins or a combination of a toddler and a baby. This model is suitable for both off-road and road adventures thanks to its large 16" tires and suspension wheel. It is also travel system compatible. This means that it can be used in conjunction with the Cybex infant car seat or Maxi-Cosi. Please note that an adapter will be required.
4. Graco Expedition
The Graco Expedition, our cheapest model, is a great choice for parents who are looking for a smooth ride and plenty of storage space. It folds up small, and it stands on its own to save space when not in use. Its wheels were easy to navigate around corners and roll smoothly across the different terrains we tried. However, it did not perform as well as the other wagons we tested climbing hills.
The Expedition has a parent tray with dual cup holders and an enclosed storage space. It also has a child tray with two cup holders and an area for snacks. It accepts the Graco car seat adapter to create an entire travel system. The canopy can be adjusted forward and backward however it is not large enough to offer much protection.

The Expedition includes brake pedals that control both rear wheels. The brake pedals are easy to use and release. However the underside can be rough for feet that are not wearing sandals. In our runaway wagon test the brakes stopped a stroller that was weighted however, it skidded before it came to a complete stop. The model we tested does not have a 3-point safety harness. The cushioned seat is comfortable, but it has limited recline. It's not the best choice for dedicated runners.
